Bring Your Classroom to The Farm Collaborative (At No Cost)

Inspire curiosity, environmental stewardship, and hands-on learning right where your students are. The Farm Collaborative offers free, engaging, curriculum-enhancing farm visits designed to support diverse grade levels and thematic focuses. Our programs nurture curiosity through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Rather than traditional instruction, we follow the learners’ lead—sparking questions, discoveries, and deeper understanding through meaningful engagement with the farm.

Dozens of teachers take advantage of this offering annually, bringing thousands of students from all our regional public and private schools. Sessions are available for teachers of pre- school through college.

What We Offer

Discover soil ecosystems with live worms, explore decomposition, and investigate compost’s role in nutrient cycles.

Learn through sowing, tending, and harvesting plants. Understand seed-to-plate processes with real-world agriculture.

Meet animals—chickens, goats, potentially alpacas. Students learn about animal care, biology, and their place in sustainable agriculture.

Transform farm goods into tangible projects: seed bombs, fiber arts (e.g. alpaca wool weaving), and more.

Enjoy Q&A sessions on sustainability, seasonal change, renewable tech, and healthy eating—led by experienced educators

We partner with teachers to create flexible farm programs that enrich classroom learning and inspire young minds. We can design a custom program based on:

  • Grade level
  • Curriculum standards (e.g., life sciences, earth systems, agriculture)
  • Audience size and group needs
