Director of Learning & Programs
Location: The Farm Collaborative at Cozy Point Ranch (Aspen, CO)
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round, Exempt
THE MISSION
Our mission is to grow a regenerative local food system where the health of people and planet comes first. We envision a resilient food system grounded in connection, access, and joy—where children learn from the land, farmers thrive, and communities gather around food.
THE ROLE
The Director of Learning & Programs is the entrepreneurial architect driving The Farm Collaborative’s educational and community enterprise. You will activate our learning center and farm campus year-round through diverse offerings, including youth camps, school partnerships, culinary education, and regenerative agriculture experiences. Balancing strategy and hands-on facilitation, you will design and sustain a vibrant calendar of activities that maximizes our facilities while driving financial sustainability and earned-revenue growth. You will manage contract facilitators, oversee our Earth Keepers Summer Camp (including hiring the Camp Manager), and step in to teach and host programs, particularly during off-seasons, ensuring the campus remains a thriving community hub.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Vision, Strategy & Growth
- Execute a multi-year strategy to fully utilize the campus across all four seasons with educational, cultural, agricultural, and community offerings.
- Achieve key departmental metrics by 2028 (compared to 2024 baselines): 3X student participation, 3X revenue, and 3X program days delivered. (Note: This is a growth-oriented role; compensation increases are directly tied to achieving these metrics).
- Track and report participation, revenue, community impact, and cost-recovery margins.
Program Development & Delivery
- Develop and launch recurring year-round offerings (e.g., after-school, homeschool enrichment, adult workshops, seasonal celebrations, farm-to-table programs, private events).
- Serve as lead educator, facilitator, or host during off-peak periods to maximize operational efficiency.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage guest instructors, community experts, and facilitators, building systems for scalable program delivery.
Curriculum & Farm Integration
- Build a Curriculum Library (lesson plans, safety protocols, facilitator guides) to ensure high quality across all programs.
- Coordinate with the Regenerative Farm Manager to align educational opportunities with crop rotations, harvests, and livestock cycles.
- Integrate local artisans and subject matter experts, ensuring programs reflect regenerative agriculture and community resilience.
Summer Camp & Youth Programs
- Hire, train, and supervise the seasonal Camp Manager for the Earth Keepers Summer Camp.
- Lead annual camp planning, curriculum development, enrollment strategy, parent communications, and quality control.
- Maintain ultimate accountability for the safety, enrollment, and participant experience of all youth programs.
Administration & Partnerships
- Manage the departmental budget and optimize pricing to balance accessibility with financial sustainability.
- Maintain registration systems, databases, and compliance with grant reporting.
- Partner with the Community Outreach Manager to build enrollment pipelines and cultivate partnerships with schools, universities, and community groups.
Risk Management
- Enforce emergency procedures and ensure safe human-animal interactions, outdoor environments, and equipment use.
- Maintain audit-ready safety documentation, liability waivers, and incident reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- State of CO School-Aged Program Director Qualified (Required).
- Early Childhood Director Qualified (Preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in environmental/agricultural education, youth development, or program leadership.
- Proven track record of growing programs, managing budgets, and meeting revenue or participation targets.
- Experience teaching diverse ages and managing seasonal staff or contractors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational skills and deep alignment with regenerative agriculture.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Highly active hybrid role (office planning, community engagement, on-farm facilitation).
- Must be able to traverse uneven outdoor terrain in all weather and occasionally lift 30–40 pounds.
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekends during programs and seasonal peaks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 to $80,000

Farm Store Clerk

As a Store Clerk, you are the primary point of connection for our community. Your goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere, maintain a beautiful market space, and ensure the smooth daily operation of our mission-driven store.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Joyfully greet visitors and assist them with their purchases in a friendly, helpful manner.
- Financial Accuracy: Perform daily point-of-sale (POS) transactions, including cash handling, drawer balancing, and processing SNAP/Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) benefits.
- Store Upkeep: Keep the market beautifully merchandised, stocked, and clean to reflect our high standards and seasonal inventory.
- Farm Support: Answer the main farm phone and assist with light administrative tasks or community events as needed.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems (e.g., Square, Shopify) and basic software like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
- Cash Handling: Proven experience managing a cash drawer and processing various payment types with high accuracy.
- Reliable & Detail-Oriented: Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment while maintaining a warm, solution-focused demeanor.

Apprenticeship Program
Looking to get your hands in the soil and dive deep into regenerative agriculture? Join us for a 16-week+ immersive apprenticeship at Cozy Point Ranch in Aspen, Colorado. Learn by doing — from seeding and harvesting to animal care and market prep — all while contributing to a vibrant, working farm. Apprentices receive a weekly stipend, farm-fresh food, and hands-on education rooted in sustainability. No experience necessary.

Job Description
Location: Cozy Point Ranch, Aspen, Colorado
Time Commitment: 16+ weeks (flexible start dates from mid-May/early June to late September/mid-October)
Hours: 40+ hours/week
Compensation:
$200/week + CSA share (farm produce, lamb, eggs – often the slightly cracked ones)
Optional: $100/week with possible housing included
Overview
This hands-on apprenticeship is designed for individuals eager to explore regenerative and organic agriculture. Over the course of the season, apprentices will gain experience in all aspects of farm operations, from crop production and irrigation to animal husbandry and community programs.
No prior farming experience is required, but a strong work ethic, curiosity, and enthusiasm are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily farm tasks: planting, harvesting, weeding, irrigation, animal care
- Support wash/pack operations and farmers market prep
- Assist with education programs and general farm maintenance
- Learn about soil health, composting, and rotational grazing
- Adapt to varied weather conditions and work in high-altitude environment (7,000+ ft)
Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
- Has a flexible, positive attitude and willingness to take on varied tasks
- Can perform manual labor safely and consistently
- Is interested in sustainability and organic agriculture
- Has reliable transportation to and from the farm

Ambassadors dive into specific areas of our operations and receive hands-on training to support our mission of regenerative agriculture, education, and community building.

To become a Farm Ambassador, we ask that you join us for at least three public volunteer days before applying for training.
Once you’re ready, you’ll complete a short application and sign a simple agreement outlining the role.
There’s no one-size-fits-all path to becoming an Ambassador. Here’s how our current ambassadors are helping grow change:
- Lead volunteer days in our regenerative garden and greenhouse
- Care for our animals and help train new volunteers in daily chores
- Engage the community at local events and through outreach efforts
- Support composting, soil health projects, harvesting and land stewardship activities
Where Ambassadors Are Needed Most
Regenerative Gardening & Greenhouse Care
Ambassadors help maintain our teaching gardens and greenhouse, using organic and regenerative techniques to grow nutrient-rich food while improving soil health.
Animal Care & Education
Help tend to our goats, chickens, and other animals while teaching visitors—especially kids—about ethical animal husbandry and farm life.
Community Engagement & Events
Represent The Farm Collaborative at local events, workshops, and festivals to spread awareness and connect with supporters across the Roaring Fork Valley.
