About the Film
Globally, soil health and biodiversity are depleting. Both of these issues can be alleviated with regenerative agriculture principles and practices. “Common Ground” offers a sweeping vision for a change in our food policy, our farm policy, and how we tackle climate change by doing more than just pointing out a problem but offering solutions – and hope. It’s not a political movement and it’s not an ideology. It’s a movement about soil. Globally, soil health and biodiversity are depleting.

*The Junior Farmer program is meant for children who are excited to work hard and learn. Attendees will spend time working in the fields, with our animals, and helping the farm run smoothly. Junior Farmers
New this summer Junior Farmers: For the budding tween/early teen ages 10-14 we are now offering weekly sessions, Monday through Friday starting at 9am to 3pm. The Junior Farmer program welcomes eager, hardworking, responsible participants 10-14 years old to join our Agricultural Education team out in the field to dig in with planting, harvesting, weeding, soil fertility, pasture management, and basic animal husbandry.
Each week will focus on a different component of farming such as: Compost Systems & Applications, Pasture Management & Animal Rotation, Beneficials & Pollinators, Farm to Plate: Harvest & Storage, Seeding & Planting, Water on the Farm.
Farmer In Training
10 weeks: 6/10/24 to 8/16/24
Average of 20hrs/week
3 days every week (Wed-Fri) 10am-3pm
Additional Saturdays for Aspen Saturday Market (7:30-1:30pm)
4 paid positions/week @ $16/hour
The Farm Collaborative is seeking teenagers 14-18 years old with an interest in the outdoors, food systems, farming, and/or a general interest in finding meaningful work for the summer. That's right! The Farm Collaborative is hiring four (4) Farmer In Training (FIT) positions this summer at our Cozy Point Ranch Campus. FIT hires will work side-by-side with our Agriculture Programs Manager in implementing our growing and harvest plan for the summer season, which includes responsibility for daily task such as irrigation, planting, harvest, weeding, wash/pack for market sales, working farmers market, and serving as a mentor to our Junior Farmer and Earth Keepers cohorts at the farm. The Farmer In Training participants will be hired as employees of the farm for 10-weeks from early June to late August (per participants summer break schedule), working 3-4 days/week with an average of 20 hours/week (Wed-Fri; some Saturdays on rotation for scheduled shifts at Aspen Farmer Market), and a starting wage of $16/hour. Farmyard-and-Me
Farmyard-and-Me: Together with your child, experience the awe of cuddling baby chicks, explore, touch and taste the world inside our gardens, learn about farming and help connect your child with the wonders of nature.
Farmyard & Me inspires our youngest community member to care about the planet.
Along with a parent or guardian, small children experience hands-on activities with farmyard animals, gardening, creative art projects, and wilderness exploration. Little ones learn about healthy living and develop compassion for themselves, their families, their communitites, and the world.
Join our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program for the upcoming season.
By becoming a CSA member, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a bountiful selection of fresh, locally grown produce while supporting our mission of sustainable agriculture.
We offer three CSA options to suit your needs:
Full Summer CSA (18 weeks): For $810, you will receive a weekly bag of 6-8 farm-fresh items from June 12 through October 9.
Bi-Weekly (twice per month) Summer CSA (9 weeks): Priced at $450, this option provides a bi-weekly bag of 6-8 farm-fresh items from June 12 through October 9.
Fall CSA (3 weeks): For $180, you will receive a weekly bag of 7-9 farm-fresh items from October 16 through October 30.
Pick-up location: Behind The Painted Pig, 689 Main St, Carbondale, CO 81623.Pick-up time: Wednesdays from 3pm-6pm.

The Farm Collaborative’s staff and board of directors officially broke ground on their new 5,000-square-foot Learning Center building at Cozy Point Ranch on Thursday afternoon. Eden Vardy, executive director of collaborative, said he hopes to see construction completed sometime in the fall of 2024.”
Casey Piscura is director of agriculture for the Farm Collaborative, a nonprofit organization that practices regenerative agriculture and trains farmers in the Roaring Fork Valley. Piscura prefers the informal title of “wizard farmer.”
